Understanding duplicate tracks on SoundCloud

Duplicate tracks occur when the same music appears twice on your profile - typically when you've manually uploaded a track to SoundCloud and later distributed the same track through Catapult Direct.

Common causes of duplicate tracks:

  1. Manual upload followed by distribution: You uploaded directly to SoundCloud before or after distributing through Catapult Direct
  2. Re-distribution: You've distributed the same track multiple times
  3. Profile issues: Your content appears on both your managed profile and an auto-generated profile

How to identify duplicates:

  • Same track title appearing multiple times on your profile
  • Different play counts and engagement statistics on identical tracks

Resolving duplicate track issues:

Option 1: Remove the manually uploaded version

  1. Log in to your SoundCloud account
  2. Navigate to your profile
  3. Find the manually uploaded version
  4. Click the "..." menu and select "Delete"
  5. Confirm deletion

Prevention tips:
