Understanding duplicate tracks on SoundCloud
Duplicate tracks occur when the same music appears twice on your profile - typically when you've manually uploaded a track to SoundCloud and later distributed the same track through Catapult Direct.
Common causes of duplicate tracks:
- Manual upload followed by distribution: You uploaded directly to SoundCloud before or after distributing through Catapult Direct
- Re-distribution: You've distributed the same track multiple times
- Profile issues: Your content appears on both your managed profile and an auto-generated profile
How to identify duplicates:
- Same track title appearing multiple times on your profile
- Different play counts and engagement statistics on identical tracks
Resolving duplicate track issues:
Option 1: Remove the manually uploaded version
- Log in to your SoundCloud account
- Navigate to your profile
- Find the manually uploaded version
- Click the "..." menu and select "Delete"
- Confirm deletion
