Product Types

(aka Single vs. EP vs. Album)

What constitutes a DSP showing a release as a single, an EP, or an album?

  • Single: 1-3 tracks, 30 minutes or less
  • EP: 4-6 tracks, 30 minutes or less
  • Album: 7+ tracks, 30 minutes or more

There are some special cases, and sometimes we can override this, if you have a good reason. For example, if you have a 4-track EP that's 31 minutes long, we can probably still call it an EP. If you have a 7-track album that's 29 minutes long, we can probably still call it an album. But if you have a 4-track EP that's 45 minutes long, we'll probably call it an album. If you're unsure or have an exception request, just let us know and we'll be happy to investigate!
